NEW PATIENT EXPERIENCE
NEW PATIENT EXPERIENCE
When you contact our office you will be greeted by our friendly scheduling coordinators. They are dedicated to finding a time that works conveniently with your schedule. They can answer any insurance questions you may have about our office or your insurance.
We encourage all new patients to arrive for their appointments 20 minutes early. This will allow you time to have your questions answered and to fill out the new patient paperwork. Arriving early also give your child time to acclimate to their surroundings and enjoy the games and other fun activities we have around the office. We’re committed to ridding the world of the idea that visiting the dentist is something to be scared of, one kid at a time. Letting your child enjoy the office before and even after their appointment is an important part of that effect.
At your child’s first dental visit, you will be asked to fill out a detailed medical history form to allow our office to get to your child’s past medical and dental history. After filling out the paperwork one of the hygienists will call you and your child back to review these forms. This is the perfect opportunity for our staff to get to know your greatest concerns with your child’s teeth. This time is also great for us to get to know you as a family! After the interview our staff will take you on a tour of our office. As we walk through the office you will be able to meet the dentist and get a good feel of the flow of our office. Your child will get to see the play areas, toy station and will get to see other kids laying in the dental chair getting their teeth cleaned. Getting familiar with our office and staff is the first step to a positive dental experience!
Following the tour, we will examine your child’s teeth and gums, do a professional cleaning, take any necessary radio graphs and educate your child how to remove plaque from their teeth and gums. Take advantage of the opportunity to discuss the best ways to help your child develop good dental habits. Benefit from your child learning the importance of a healthy smile early in life, so they can enjoy healthy teeth and gums as adults.
Understand that as a parent you are a role model in your child’s life. Encourage your child to have a good attitude towards dental care. Take the time to help your child develop good dental habits such as proper brushing, regular dental visits, routine flossing, and a good diet. Be natural and easygoing when you tell your child about their appointment. Stay positive to help ensure your child views their dental visits as a positive opportunity to stay healthy!
At the end of the visit, your will get to pick out a prize and a sticker. Parents will be encouraged to set up an appointments in 6 months or set up a time to come back for treatment. During this time our treatment coordinator will review financial information for the treatment
If your child has special health care needs, you can feel great knowing his or her dental needs are not necessarily any different than those of any other child. The difference is how your child’s dental care is delivered based upon their specific needs.
